We are experts for industrial safety and as such we focus on the testing and certification of equipment, machines and plants. We are also experts in product safety and as such we have all eyes on the testing and certification of furniture, electric tools, devices and machines for daily use and toys. They all have to function safely – a pivotal criterion not only for protecting assets, but also the health and physical integrity of people. It is our mission to make the world a bit safer – every day. We do that by contributing our technical expertise not only to our testing and certification services, but in specialist committees and working groups, too. We also share our knowledge regarding the certification procedure with our customers with whom we collaborate as partners. Moreover, we inform on current safety issues in our free information seminars that we hold at regular intervals.

The focus of our activities is our customer – the customer who we support as an independent, trustworthy, and competent testing partner who responds swiftly and flexibly. We keep project running times as short as possible to support our customers in timely launching their products on the market. Our global network enables us to do that beyond the borders of Germany and Europe. Our global commitment is recognised in the fact that we are an acknowledged Test Lab (TL) and Certification Body (CB) in the IECEE Scheme. Another indicator of our global commitment is the fact that we were the first certification body worldwide acknowledged in the IECEx Scheme.

DEKRA is a Notified Body of the European Union for ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC under its ID number 0158. It is the Notified Body No. 2140 of the European Union for Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and Toys Directive 2009/48/EC. Furthermore, DEKRA EXAM is an Approved Inspection Agency (ZÜS) for explosion protection within the scope of the German Ordinance of Occupational Safety (BetrSichV). Moreover, the accreditation body ZLS has authorised DEKRA Testing and Certification to award the GS-mark according to § 20 of the German Product Safety Act ProdSG.
