EC type-examination, certification and guidance through the conformity assessment procedure

DEKRA EXAM´s range of service for machinery equipment includes EC type-examination and certification of machinery and guidance through the conformity assessment procedure.

DEKRA EXAM as a notified body provides EC-type examination und certification for machinery, equipment such as safety PLCs and safety sensors according to Annex IV of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC:

• devices for the lifting of persons or of persons and goods,
• vehicle servicing lifts,
• machinery for underground working,
• logic units to ensure safety functions (e.g. safety PLCs, safety sensors) and
• protective devices designed to detect the presence of persons (e.g.: safety light curtains, laser scanner)

All the other machines that are subject to the machinery directive but are not listed in Annex IV may be subject to a voluntary EC-type examination by DEKRA EXAM before placing on the market in order to obtain the maximum possible level of safety.

We also support you with carrying out your conformity assessment procedure and also in adapting your quality assurance to fulfill the requirements of Annex X of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

DEKRA EXAM checks further normative references (declaration of conformity, risk assessment, construction manual, construction documents, software source code and other documents) on conformity with the directive.

Expert statements of machinery and equipment are made by our professional engineers.

Alternatively, we certify single safety functions for the functional safety of a machine against DIN EN ISO 13849, DIN EN 62061, and DIN EN 61508.
